Metropolis 2010, First Day at Burning Man

I made this mix according to a personal experience of mine.

In 2008, I traveled to Burning Man from Washington, DC alone. My personal goal was to embark on an adventure that I knew would be extremely difficult to do by myself. I bought my tickets, arranged for rental car and hotel for a night after leaving, and packed my bags. Upon arriving in Reno, Nevada, my plan was to do find other burners and see what happened next.
But first I picked up my rental car and went shopping for all the necessary supplies. After finishing, I knew that people were meeting at a grocery store if they needed rides. So I drove over and picked up two stranded ladies. We drove the 2.5 hours to Burning Man, waded through the traffic, did the last minute shopping in Gerlach and as our excitements rose we began to barely be able to sit still.

This mix encompasses that drive, the feeling of excitement and the following emotions and experiences:
Traffic line into Black Rock City,
Getting tickets and describing how we felt about being 'Home',
Feelings of love and togetherness and the spirit of being at BRC,
Driving through the gate and finding a campsite,
Seeing everyone else set up and rushing to get my own site together,
Getting dressed and heading out for my first exploration of the year,
Enjoying the art, the people and their costumes, the gifts, the friendship, and the BRC community,
Visiting different theme camps and hearing widely different styles of music,
Witnesses mayhem and debauchery unfold, some including myself,
Realizing the sun has set and I'm across playa from my campsite,
Journeying back to the campsite to eat and get ready for the nighttime,
Watching the sun retire for the day and the stars take over the sky,
Dancing through the night to many different dj's, sounds, music and themes.

The first day at Burning Man to me is a bunch of feelings and a collection of memories I will never, ever forget.
I hope that through this mix you are able to take that memory odyssey with me. Enjoy this as much as I did making it! Don't forget to daydream, fantasize and crank it!
